Treatment of Pigmented Lesions is performed with Alex (755 nm).Skin Types I, II and III. Lesions usually change color within 5–10 minutes posttreatment.
Pigmented lesion treatment provides the most benefit to those with superficial, benign, pigmented lesions. To achieve optimal results, 1 to 2 treatments may be necessary within about 3 weeks apart. Patients may return to normal activities after treatment.
As with any cosmetic procedure, it is important to consult with a qualified provider to determine if laser pigmented lesion treatment is right for you.
Laser pigmented lesions removal is considered as the most gentle method, since this technique does not imply layer-by-layer removal of tissues, but is aimed only at combating unwanted pigment. Overall skin surface is not being damaged or injured. It takes a few sessions to remove the pigmented lesions.
How does it work?
Alexandrite laser destroys pigment melanin and leaves surrounding tissues with no damage. Pigments particles are getting withdrawn during the month naturally with additional help of one’s system.
Due to the high power and speed, the session turns out to be quick and painless.
- At the first session, the laser sprays the top layer of pigment closest to the surface into the dust
- During the break between procedures, the body naturally removes the smallest pigment particles. Meanwhile, a deeper layer of melanin rises to the surface.
- At the second session a new pigment layer is getting removed. And so on until all of the pigment layers are removed.
Benefits of laser pigmentation removal
Efficiency. The result of the pigment lesions removal procedure can be seen after two or three sessions.
Due to the fact that the effect is carried out at the cellular level, the achieved result is preserved for a long time.
Safety. This procedure eliminates the possibility of following sequela. Patients can get back to normal activities and social life right after a treatment session with no downtime.
Painless. Pigmented lesions removal is carried out without anesthesia, it is easily tolerated by the patients, and does not leave any scars or marks.
Recovery period
Removal of pigmentation and age spots is such an easy procedure that the patient does not have to change his usual rhythm of life. After the procedure, there may be some redness or, less commonly, slight swelling at the laser exposure site during the day.
Within five days, the treated surface will peel intensively, and then the spot will disappear. On the first day after the operation, it is advised to exclude water from the treated area and avoid ultraviolet exposure radiation for 3 weeks. Three sessions are enough to completely remove pigmented and age spots on the body or face. The required number of sessions is also being determined by the therapeutic esthetician during the primary consultation.
Indications:
Treatment of epidermal pigmented formations, including age pigmentation, solar lentigo, freckles, acne.
Pre-treatment preparation
Patients need to avoid sun rays exposure, solarium visits, use of lotions and creams for artificial tanning before, during and after a course of treatment.
Post-treatment skin care
After your procedure, make sure to avoid sun exposure during a course of treatment and apply a broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunblock while in the sun. The treated areas will likely develop peel that will then flake off during several days or even weeks.
